Senior Advisor

Jessica Melchor

Jessica Melchor is a Public Relations Specialist, who’s passionate about educating family, friends, and community members (who will listen) about the importance of having an advance life plan. In 2005, after graduating Chico State, my career with older adults and family caregivers took off. The experience with Hospice (professionally and personally) led me to establish and expand my extensive skill set from public engagement to problem-solving. This led to increased services in under-served minority groups. In addition, I was seen as a liaison between minorities and agencies. Over 20 years working in nonprofit I have gained confidence to build and express ideas, and develop strategies from local to state level with special grant funded projects. This allows me the ability to advocate for those who need a voice. My profession has provided me with the tools to apply a better work-life balance through routine and practice of mindfulness, meal preparation (my favorite), and chasing waterfalls (another Favorite) activities. I hope to model these stress management techniques to my family.
